2018 was a great year for me, it started off with being a featured act with Nature of Wires on the Ohm from Ohm tour. I sang ‘Don’t Wanna’ Nature of Wires remix. It was the first time I had played with a band and it was a great new experience.
I released the single ‘I never thought’ along with the Parralox remix
Over the summer I had another first, playing at a few Pride gigs – which was a completely difference experience from the ‘synth scene’
I released my remix album ‘Quasi-static’ in August. The 7 track album has amazing remixes from Def Neon, Parralox, Real Experts, LorD and Master, Nature of Wires, Arcane, DJ Cutz and aka Baz
During the year I also released a few music videos, I’ll take my chances, ‘I never thought’ and ‘Miss Perfect’ LorD and Master remix.
The Autumn brought more highlights – starting the Synthetic City festival and support Spray on tour
I was proud to be nominated for ‘Best Electro Act’ at the Radio Wigwam awards.
The year ended with ‘Don’t Wanna’ Nature of Wires Remix
charting at number 7 in the Artefaktor Radio awards
Today I was over at Switch Radio with Gary Watts from Nature of Wires to do a ‘Slab Special’
We spent an hour with Richard Francis Smith chatting about ‘Don’t Wanna’ amongst other things and playing a few of our songs.
The playlist was Nature Of Wires – We Kill All
Caroline McLavy – Don’t Wanna (Nature Of Wires Remix)
Caroline McLavy – Constant Pain (Arcane Remix)
Nature Of Wires – Time Has Come
Broken Ego – Get Away
Leatherstrip – Into Its Eyes (Gary Watts Nature Of Wires Remix)
Caroline McLavy – This Is Not My Life
Rachel Portman – The Duchess (Classical)
I am delighted and very humbled to announce that I have been nominated for Wigwam Online Radio Music Awards, under the category of ‘Best Electro Act’
There some amazing contenders on the nomination list so being part of this line up feels great. I played with Hemmingway at Synthetic City and The Frixion on the Ohm from Ohm tour and they were both lovely – so I do have my favourites 🙂
I was asked to take a photo of me with the award certificate, so here is it, taken at The Vault during soundcheck, before my gig supporting Spray
I bumped into Chris Watts from ‘In The Moog’ at Warwickshire Pride and he asked me if I would like to come into the studio and have an interview with Gary Watts from Nature of Wires.
This sounded like a great idea! I wasn’t able to make it into the studio but I did call up. There were a few technical difficulties putting the call through but eventually we got there and I had a good 20 minute chat with the guys.
I also got to introduce my track ‘Constant Pain’ (Arcane Remix)
