My first gig supporting Spray went very well, there we loads of people from my home town Leicester there. It was great to see familiar faces 🙂
The second band on ‘Factory Acts’ unfortunately had to pull out last minute and Vieon stood in. This was good news for me as they were kind enough to let me use their projector and I was able to perform with my visual display again.
It is rather entertaining during Miss Perfect watching the crowd watching the video, as they grind at different parts of it.
Vieon were fantastic as usual and Spray were the loveliest people on and off stage. Jenny’s voice is beautiful x
Im really looking forward to catching up with them again in Manchester.
I am delighted and very humbled to announce that I have been nominated for Wigwam Online Radio Music Awards, under the category of ‘Best Electro Act’
There some amazing contenders on the nomination list so being part of this line up feels great. I played with Hemmingway at Synthetic City and The Frixion on the Ohm from Ohm tour and they were both lovely – so I do have my favourites 🙂
I was asked to take a photo of me with the award certificate, so here is it, taken at The Vault during soundcheck, before my gig supporting Spray
As I was first on the bill I was there early and got to watch all the other amazing acts. It was so nice to meet talented, encouraging artists
This was the first time I played my new set, which includes songs from my new remix Album ‘Quasi-static’ It was also the first time I used my visual display – showing videos to the songs on the screen behind me
I played the video for ‘Miss Perfect ‘(LorD and Master Remix) for the first time at the gig, and it went down very well
The Electricity Club recently reviewed Quasi-static. Last September, at 2017 Synthetic City, Paul Brown had a bit of a hand in asking John Von Ahlen before I got to him about doing a remix for me. By the time I plucked up the courage to ask him myself he said “Of course I would love to!” I felt a bit of a wally.
Here’s a few quotes from the review I particularly liked, the full review is linked at the bottom.
“Any remix delivered by the superb talents of Australian synthpop outfit Parralox is always going to be special. Here, ‘I Never Thought’ is given a floor-stomping quality that’s a radical departure from Electrostatic’s more reflective approach”
“Perhaps one of the best remixes on the album is LorD & Master’s reworking of ‘Miss Perfect’. The vocals are kept front and centre, but there’s additional melodic lifts that somehow manage to give the song a fresh, dynamic quality.”
“Meanwhile, Nature Of Wires, rapidly becoming the go-to act for remix duties, do a powerful reworking of ‘Don’t Wanna’. There’s a muscular, brooding quality to this track with nods to dark dance beats.”
